What Sharon had to say about her experience:

"The beginning of this month was not a good time for me personally.

As I had signed up already, I decided that I would give it my best, although I really did not feel like I wanted turn up at all. Not only did I turn up for every class, the last week I wasn’t vey well as I had a bad chest and swollen glands, but didn’t use it as an excuse not to attend.

Next week I will be 48, I feel I have really pushed myself trying to keep up with people at least 20 years younger, and making sure that I performed each exercise in the correct position, which believe me, I found really hard. As older women getting results takes a lot longer and you have to keep telling yourself to keep going and not to give up.

I now feel that at long last I am getting somewhere with changing how my body looks. My body is definitely more toned, especially my legs, my tummy still needs a lot more work but I am more determined than ever to keep this up knowing what the end results will be. I’ve gone to the gym off and on all my life but not see results like this so quickly."

And our runners up...

Katrina Baker also gave it her all, and you can see from her amazing results, below, what she achieved, which is why we awarded her a runner up prize!

Kat's Experience:

"I joined bootcamp on a whim, like I tend to do most things! I needed something to motivate me to lose weight and thought boot camp might just be it. People laughed at me, scoffed and seriously questioned my sanity but I was determined and I showed up for the first session really excited. I wanted to lose as much weight as possible so the night before I had emptied my cupboards of all ‘banned’ foods and bought loads of fresh fruit and vegetables, something which in honesty, my fridge hadn’t seen in awhile!

I was not disappointed. It was hard, but motivating and fun as well. I even found myself looking forward the sessions! In week 1 I was unable to make one of the sessions as the tube lines were suspended, instead of going back to bed, I was motivated enough to go to the gym and work out there instead. I used the exercises I learnt at boot camp to create my own ‘mini boot camp’ although it wasn’t nearly as much fun doing it alone.

I have given boot camp my all! I stuck to the nutrition plan even though it was really hard at first and now fruit and vegetables are an integral part of my diet and I’ve found that I actually enjoy eating them! Most importantly, I’ve lost some weight and a lot of inches and gained some of my confidence back, my main aim of joining to begin with!"

Ayesha Singh was our second runner up in this month's competition. Again, she stuck to the programme and it paid off. Her results are a real inspiration:

Ayesha's Experience:

"I have never been a fantastic runner, but since having my knee operation my fitness levels dropped drastically and the weight piled on! I needed something to get me out of my overweight rut. Gavin Walsh Boot Camp was the PUSH I needed to improve my fitness levels and jump start my weight loss.

If I was going to do Boot Camp I wanted to commit 100% both to "Gavin" and the diet. It hasn't been easy, I have pushed myself as hard as I could for four weeks, which has paid off. I have lost a dress size and my fitness levels compared to Day 1 are unrecognisable.

Sticking to Boot Camp and the diet has been one of the most proactive things I have done for a long time, but most importantly I am going to stick to it (at least another dress size before my summer holiday)!"

February's Competition Winner

Congratulations to Diana Munoz, our transformation contest winner February 2010! In just 4 weeks of boot camp she lost a massive 12 inches and 14lbs (6.5kg) in weight, which just shows you what you can achieve at boot camp if you give it your all.

What Diana had to say about her experience:

"Having the lowest fitness level entering the group, I really pushed myself to keep up and am proud that by the end I could run along side the others, which for me was a huge achievement.

My main reason for joining Gavin Walsh Boot Camp was to lose weight and improve my fitness level and health. Having fallen into the comforts of winter I knew I needed a good push to get myself back on track to a healthier lifestyle. The thought of facing another beach holiday feeling bloated and overweight was filling me with dread and I knew I had to do something now to make that change.

It’s been a tough month, but I gave my all three times a week and alongside the support of ‘Gavin’ and the regular email messages I was able to reach my first target of fitting back into a size 14, which I am over the moon about!"
